P. B. Theatricals Youth Theatre

About us

PB Theatricals Youth Theatre is a not-for-profit all-inclusive theatre group for young performers aged between 8 and 35. It was formed in 2009 with the aim to specialise in producing quality Gilbert & Sullivan operettas in a concentrated rehearsal period.

PB Theatricals Youth Theatre group, is run by a committee of very committed parents and interested parties who tirelessly fundraise, organise and donate their time, skills and resources to ensure that each year fabulous productions are produced. We are an all-inclusive group within the High Peak where performers audition, rehearse and perform an operetta normally all within a week.

Performers who are interested in taking part in the productions register online as soon as our registration opens and then come to the dedicated audition day. Rehearsals normally start the same day as auditions and performers have the rest of the week to perfect their parts either as a lead role or in the chorus ready for the opening night at the end of the week.

Due to the short intense timescale for the performance, performers normally rehearse from approximately 0900 through to 1700 hrs each day for that week. This intensive type of performance means that lifelong friendships are often made and we have a number of performers who have grown up with PB theatricals Youth Theatre.

We raise money through fundraising, by applying for grants and donations; this year we have also had to make a small charge to help cover production costs. If you would like to join the PB Theatricals family to perform, volunteer or offer support we would love to hear from you.
